Yay! It’s almost New Years. What an amazing year it’s been, and 2008 is starting off with a bang. Well, a travel bang, as I’m off to Hawaii, Sydney, New Zealand, and the Caribbean for the first two months. Wow…
Yes, I’ll be running the entire business from the road, and yes, I’ll be posting to the blog incessantly, and yes, I’ll be back in time, specifically, to make my ONE can’t miss seminar of the year:
Register Now and Enter 2008 With a Plan!
I really hope to see you there! If you register with the link above, we’ll make sure to connect at the conference. It should be a lot of fun, and a learning experience as always. I can’t wait (and I have a lot to do before then).
So, I’ve gotten some "Stomper" questions, and actually have chosen not to release or discuss too much the latest stomper "Scrutinizer" software. Not that I don’t think it’s cool, and not that I don’t think it’s beneficial, BUT…
I simply don’t think you need spend your limited time on this. In fact, I’ll have you contract out most of your site design (yes, even if you’re a techie and you like to do it). It’s simply not where the "bang for your buck" lies most of the time. I think this kind of really high level "marketing" is interesting, I think you can do a gajillion things that will have a greater impact in the beginning. My god, there’s a lot to do, and while this is an interesting site design and conversion tool, it’s too deep for the beginner. Nay, too deep for the intermediate. Nay, even too deep for me, the advanced. Eye tracking? Cool, but I’ve got a lot of beaches to see, and luxury hotels to stay at, and frankly, this is not going to be the critical difference for me.
I’m kinda poking fun by saying that, but honestly, there’s so much ya’ have to do to be successful, this is just a level beyond me. Perhaps…just perhaps, I’ll attack it someday in the future. However, for most people, simply executing at any level is a real step forward, and to spend your limited "execution" time on this, I think could send people down a tedious path. In short, I think for my crowd of beginners and intermediates (most people here are earning under 500k, and some haven’t even earned their first dollar), I want to spend time on the things that make immediate impact. It matters little about eye tracking if you have yet to get a website.
So, controversial position, pass. Focus on my 10 rules to get up and running, and converting, before nitpicking. Yikes, I’m going to get into so much trouble. Well, all this is to say, Stomper is a great program, but with any great program comes the risk of spending your time inneficiently. They do a great job with their beginning level stuff, and I still recommend them wholeheartedly for those truly serious about getting started right away…
Stay tuned…they have some great stuff coming, and yes, they are going to open their doors again, and you will get a chance to get in on it…
